On Sunday 27 March, United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinkin, announced that EcoPeace is the recipient of a significant grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development – within the framework of the Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act initiative.

The $3.3 million grant will enable us to continue working to address water security in the West Bank/Gaza and Israel, including: dual-track scientific and grassroots approaches to build awareness, knowledge, and solutions to the challenges of water scarcity and climate change. The funding will bring together Israeli and Palestinian scientific experts to cooperatively build solutions for equitable and sustainable use of shared water supplies. Meanwhile, the grassroots approach will develop educational materials for students and train teachers to increase awareness of both climate challenges and possible mitigation and adaptation measures.

We are very grateful to USAID and the American people for the critical support given to advance Israeli-Palestinian water security and climate resilience.
