Red Dead Canal World Bank Public Hearing August 2007

The World Bank scheduled public hearings on the issue of the Terms of Reference for the Feasibility Study of the “Red Dead Canal” in Jordan, Israel and Palestine.

This was an opportunity for all interested / concerned citizens, academia, organizations, businesses, municipalities, etc. to voice their questions and concerns on the Terms of Reference for the Study of this complex proposed project.

After the public hearings and additional meetings in the region, the Environmental Committee of the Israeli Parliament sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Israel (Hebrew) with a firm request that the Israeli government should strongly recommend to the World Bank to study other alternatives to Save the Dead Sea.
